The Promise of Music

To much of R&B these days is far to concerned with sex. Not the pursuit, or making love or the art of getting the one you want. Some of the greatest songs in R&B history contained straight talk type social commentary. “Tales from the Hood” so to speak. It’s good to hear this type of song from performers who sound so young. Let’s face it, young kids aren’t experienced in love and romance, so it is often amusing to hear them sing about the subject. The topic of this song is timely and prevalent in society. Everyone would have an opinion on this one, and there will be so many different sides of the issue to be represented.

Now as for the music itself, the classically inspired intro and recurring theme throughout the piece was a very nice touch. Elevate the art form whenever possible. After the opening, I knew this wasn’t going to be another SEX song. Although there was the classical flavoring the song itself was not overly complicated, nice touch, I hate any type of music that is too complex. Especially when said complexity is for complexity’s sake. I couldn’t care less about what you’ve studied if you aren’t entertaining me with good music. The performance as a whole was nice but there was still an overall finish missing, this may be a mastering issue. There wasn’t enough clarity between the sounds and instruments in the song. I’m talking about a very minor adjustment here. This was a strong effort. The vocals were adequate, I wasn’t blown away but that’s better than being turned completely off and I wasn’t. Most people I know, mainly women would feel this song on some level. That is an accomplishment in and of itself.

Impressed

Very, very good. This group knows the feeling of being tight. I hear no problems with this group they can accomplish a lot. I’m impressed.

Great Production

The beat in this track is great compliments the vocals which is great, the vocals are good and well monitored and the overall production work of this track is very good. Every sound in the right spectrum, which a very hard thing to achieve. Well Done.

Keep Going!!

The two vocalists have the potential to go all the way. This track demonstrates great ability… originality and a true understanding of production and beat selection. I especially like the piano and the unique voice that pisses on Timberlake!! Keep going!!

Wow Vocal!

Vocal are very original, very beautifully voice. Violins are also very good. Overall it’s a professional song, with a touch of originality, good for this!

One Damn Strong Tune

Congratulations. This is one damn strong tune. From arrangement to instrumental and vocal execution, you have nailed this song rite to the floor. Thanks.

Stevie Wonders Who This Is…

The voice reminds me a little of Stevie Wonder and so do the chord progressions. But, that is a good thing. Classical piano voicing in and throughout the tune are nice. The string thing is nice too. This is a very rhythmic track and the bass and drums are nicely executed. The vocalist is top notch and the background vocals really add a lot. Once again that classical piano riff and it is cooler each time you hear it. Great harmonies, can you tell I’m excited about this tune.

Dirty Ways

Oh the instrumental on this is great. It is a fast tempo track with a stringed orchestra. I love the violin tracks rising before the vocalist opens. There are two vocalists interacting back and forth on this track. They both sound like they may be from the UK.

The keyboard on this is very close to be classical. It’s like R&B meets classical. Real close to an Alicia Keys jam.

the acoustic guitar slowly picks out the melody. it increases in volume when there is no singing, the decreases when there is. then the solo notes of the piano comes in to enhance the background vocals.

I absolutely loved this track about a woman who needs to mend her dirty ways.

The song is outstanding because the you can also listen to the instrumentation without vocals and still keep the meaning. Very well done.

Moving Vocals

This is a good song, I dig the vocals and the lyrical content. It is arranged well and there is nothin bad about this song. The vocal tones are really moving. Great job; there is nothing bad to say about this song.

Talking in Tongues

Wow what a fast smooth talker! Nice groove and touch on the beat and whispers! This one should go somewhere big! Nice message!

Perfect

I like songs that start with the word ‘uh’ and this heads to the top of the list. This is wicked with a great vocal and a really catchy melody. Great, great song well performed and produced. You’ve got my vote.

3 million

Ya’ll can sing. You gotta get some better beats. Your arrangement is hot. I like the originality of the track. Fuck the Justin Timberlake style, hone your own thing. You guys got talent, find that niche and get some professional help.
TimCee from Burlington, New Jersey

Andrea Hill

I loooove this beat. It’s hot. The piano is so unique. The breakdowns where the piano is going down the scale really hypes this beat up. Good Job.

Love the Riff

Love the classical riff at the beginning. It is really nice. Sound is fat and full. Vocals hit the grove and sound nice. Song is good, with well thought out melodies and harmonies. Well done guys.
