The first song to start off the series is one which I wrote lyrics and a top line for as a sample to send off to a local producer who wanted to work on some tracks together; you see … I find I work best when I’m collaborating with other people. Some call it synergy. Some call it magic. I call it musical fusion. I had a listen to the beat and backing music and liked the sound so I thought I could bring something to the table; after all I’ve got the experience and I want to work some tracks like this as I’ve been feeling very angsty as of late. Yeah I know … it sounds a little strange coming from me but hey, we all go through out angsty stage sooner or later right? Thank goodness my angst comes out in music and not some strange and funkadelic way.
The lyrics were made up on the spot as I was recording the vocals as I admit, I get really impatient with the lyrics (something I need to change). The melody is spaced out to be percussive to highlight the beat and to create a sense of urgency, desperation and breathlessness.
Then of course, the pre-chorus and chorus has a lot of sustained notes to make it distinctive as a chorus. I’ve added a lot of “spoken” percussive lines underneath the pre-chorus and chorus to color them up and make them more busy.
Finally, a couple of harmonies to color up select bits in the song just because well … color is the spice of life.

Me? Calm? pu-shaw. And…as far as I know, there is no way to inject someone with Ritalin…Kym..?!? *runs around in panicked circles* AHH! what WAS that??
Ritalin.
Side affects of ritalin:
Reported side effects include difficulty sleeping, stomach aches, diarrhea, headaches, lack of hunger (leading to weight loss) and dry mouth, in some cases also including death.
Nice work Kym.
There was no way to inject someone with Ritalin… until I was born! I am the inventor of ritalin injectors bwahahahaha.
Those side effects only occur if you are upside down and topsy turvy at the time of taking it.
